For over 20 years, controversy has surrounded Ludacris' 2004 “Get Back” music video's bathroom scene and its alleged connection to Bay Area rap legend Mac Dre. Now, Fatlip of the legendary hip-hop group The Pharcyde joins The Banski Show for an exclusive, in-depth conversation to address the controversy and share his side of the story.
Was the infamous bathroom scene in Ludacris' music video inspired by an alleged real-life encounter with Mac Dre? Was Fatlip's character intentionally portraying the late Bay Area legend, or was it all a coincidence?
Fatlip speaks candidly about his involvement in the music video, the controversy that followed, and the questions that have circulated throughout the hip-hop community for decades.
This special episode combines two separate interviews, including an exclusive follow-up conversation in which Fatlip returns to revisit the controversy, respond to additional questions, and provide further insight into one of hip-hop's most debated stories.
