Sleep Dank shares the firsthand story behind the making of “Game Recognize Game” by JT the Bigga Figga featuring Mac Mall — and what it was like witnessing the record come together in real time.
Sleep takes us back to the early ’90s, when JT pulled up looking for Mac Mall and took them straight to Fillmore. Once they arrived, JT pulled up the “Game Recognize Game” beat and Mac Mall went to work — writing and recording his verse incredibly fast and coming up with the song’s memorable hook on the spot.
Sleep also recalls what happened after the session and how that day became another piece of Bay Area rap history he witnessed firsthand.
