Dubee aka Sugawolf remembers his close friend Syko and explains why their relationship went far beyond music.
Dubee talks about traveling to Portland to spend time with Syko, being welcomed by Syko’s father like another son, and developing a genuine family bond with the producer. As Dubee puts it, Syko was “blood, family… beyond the music.”
Syko would go on to work with Mac Dre and produce on Thizzelle Washington, but Dubee explains that Syko wasn’t kept around simply because of his talent. He was somebody they genuinely cared about, whether music was involved or not.
Dubee reflects on what Syko meant to their circle and why he’ll always remember him as more than just a producer.
🕊️ Rest in Peace Syko.
