Dubee aka Sugawolf gives his unfiltered perspective on Drake revisiting Mac Dre’s classic “2 Hard 4 the Radio”, and explains why his feelings about it are complicated.
As someone who was actually Mac Dre’s friend and came up with him in the Crest, Dubee says he looks at the situation differently than a fan. He discusses Mac Wanda giving Drake permission, why he supports Dre’s family benefiting financially from his legacy, and why he still understands the Mac Dre fans who expected more from Drake’s homage.
But Dubee also raises a bigger question: was Mac Dre and Northern California being used in the middle of Drake’s battle with Kendrick Lamar and Southern California?
Dubee also speaks on Mac Dre’s message of unity, the different generations of Dre fans, paying homage versus biting, Drake not reaching out to him personally, and why people should be allowed to have different opinions about Dre’s legacy.
